2022 Winter Symposium


2e Symposium information


The most recent 2e Symposium took place online on March 12, 2022. Our keynote speaker was renowned 2e expert Dr. Susan Baum of the Bridges Education Group. The event focused on implementing strength-based, talent-focused approaches to best support twice-exceptional learners.

2019 Symposium

2e Symposium

The 2e Center held the 2019 symposium on October 11-13 in North Hollywood and Studio City, California. This symposium focused on what it means to be 2e friendly and what role the 2e education community has in influencing a shift to 2e-friendly environments.

Guest speakers included Jack Horner, Deborah Reber,  and David Shore, and various keynotes and panels were held. The second 2e Hall of Fame class was inducted, including Susan Assouline, Mark Bade & Linda Neumann, Sally Reis, and James Webb.

Participants joined together to help create a Declaration of Equity in Education and Inclusion of Twice-Exceptional Persons.

2017 Symposium

The 2e Center for Research and Professional Development hosted the symposium on October 13-14, 2017, at the Garland in North Hollywood, CA., and Bridges Academy in Studio City, CA.

The symposium featured keynotes, panel discussions by 2e Hall of Fame inductees, “Issues and Answers” breakout discussions on strategic topics, and forums with noted experts on program development, research-based strategies, and related issues in 2e education programs.

The inaugural class was inducted into the 2e Hall of Fame at a dinner ceremony on Oct. 13. The class is comprised of Lois Baldwin, Linda Brody, Mary Ruth Coleman, L. Dennis Higgins, C. June Maker, M. Elizabeth Nielsen, and Joanne Whitmore Schwartz.

Leading scholars gave keynotes on talent development and neurodiversity. The featured speakers were Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, Dr. Sally Reis,  Jonathan Mooney, and Dr. Susan Baum.
